KNUTH Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH, a leading international machine tool supplier, is hiring a remote-first Senior Analytics Engineer to support their tech stack migration projects. You will design the new company data warehouse, develop ETL processes, collaborate with stakeholders, implement data pipelines, monitor systems, and define KPIs. The role requires 5 years of Data Engineering experience, proficiency in SQL, Python, and database knowledge, excellent communication skills, and project management abilities.

Your responsibilities

• Designing and constructing the new company data warehouse according to scalability and security standards
• Developing complex ETL processes to transform and transport data from various sources
• Collaborating with stakeholders to gather data model requirements and define successful analytics outcomes
• Providing data modeling expertise to all Data Team members through code reviews, pairing, and training
• Implementing data pipelines and synchronizations to enhance the efficiency of data processes
• Regularly monitoring and optimizing data systems to ensure efficient and reliable performance
• Creating and maintaining architecture & systems documentation
• Facilitating and driving the definition of analytical KPIs within the whole company
• Developing further reporting capabilities in Power BI
• Developing and communicating strong opinions about best practices in Analytics Engineering

Qualifications

• Very good German and English language skills
• 5 years of professional experience in Data Engineering
• Proficient in SQL & Python, knowledge of MS SQL, Snowflake, MySQL
• Flexibility to travel to Wasbek, Germany occasionally
• Proficient in usage of dbt & GitHub
• Knowledge of ERP & CRM data flows and table structures
• Excellent project management skills paired with business acumen
• Great communication skills with the ability to abstract technical challenges into business language
• Ideally first experience in a BI environment with Power BI
• Ideally first experience with or interest in IoT-related products
